Friendship Balls or Hearts grew out of old glass witch balls, which were traditionally hung in windows to catch wandering spirits, envy, or ill intent before it could enter a home. Over time, some glassmakers began shaping them with a softer purpose, as gifts exchanged between friends or loved ones, meant to hold good will rather than ward anything off.
A friendship ball was less about protection and more about connection.
A reminder that someone, somewhere, was thinking of you.
Light catching glass. Intention catching light.
